It’s not that I’m counting. WordPress is. So when I posted my 99th blog yesterday, it reminded me that my next post would be my 100th. Awesome! (Yes, that appeared on the screen as well.)
So it’s my 100th post. Big deal? Come to think of it, it is. Especially when I think in terms of how much have happened since I started this blog and why I started it in the first place. As most of you know, this blog was born because I was going through a difficult time and I felt that I had to continue writing about happy stuff just to keep me sane— something which, for reasons that escape me now, I couldn’t do with my other blog (which, by the way, I have abandoned since). Hence, the title What Happens In Between. It’s supposed to be about all the random things that happen in my life that are not directly related to what I was going through. Of course, I have digressed from that theme a number of times. Still, it makes me happy to look back and see how my life has happened during and even after that difficult period.
And so for my 100th post, and at the risk of being labeled as “feeling celebrity,” I thank all of you who regularly visit my blog and witness my sometimes happy, sometimes lonely, mostly crazy journey. I know that it’s not my writing skills or the content of what I write that make you come back again and again. Rather, mahal nyo lang talaga ako. (Haha. Mas feeling pala!) It gives me much joy when I see in my site stats that people regularly read whatever nonsense I write here. I realize that in the end, we all just want to connect to each other, to resonate with each other’s experiences, and to comfort ourselves with the thought that others go through the same things we go through and that eases the burden somehow.
Thank you friends, for taking the time to know me through this blog, for journeying with me until I get there, wherever “there” is, and for wanting to know what happens in between. Here’s to the next 100. 😉
